How does it feel to be part of Aelius Alternative Music Festival?
We are buzzing to be a part of this years AeliusAlternative. We’re exited to be a part of such a great festival right in the heart of Newcastle!
For anyone coming across you for the first time at the festival, how would you describe your sound?
Loud, raw, gritty and electric.
What was it about Aelius that made you want to be involved?
It’s a great showcase for alternative artists like ourselves. It’s the perfect platform to show what we do. Stephen and the team at The Globe do such a great deal for bands in the area, so to get involved for the first time is a privilege!
What can people expect from your set on the day?
People can an expect us to bring big energy and our usual brand of noise. But you can also see us playing live with our new drummer Harry Bullock for the first time!
Are you changing anything up for a festival crowd compared with a normal show?
We’re bringing our same unique and edgy sound, however our drummer Harry has brought a new vibe to the band we’re excited to showcase for the first time.
Is there a particular track in the set you think will hit especially well live?
Lights Out is always a special one live. We always get a good reaction after that.
What do you want people to take away from seeing you perform?
We want people to feel something. We love to have a positive impact on someone watching us. Even it’s justalong the lines of “yeah they’re alright them” then we’re happy.
How important do you think festivals like this are for artists and the wider North East scene?
Festivals like Aelius are majorly important for the NE scene. It gives bands like ourselves an opportunity to get ourselves out there and get more eyes on us! Not only that but it’s a great way of connecting with bands and people of the scene and bringing people together.
Are there any other acts on the lineup you’re especially looking forward to seeing?
Theres a few! Central Arcade, Crescent and Risco… however we may miss them as we are finishing as they start!
Are you bringing any new material with you, or working on anything at the minute people should keep an eye out for?
Absolutely! We’ve got new material, a new lineup and will be playing songs from our upcoming EP for the very first time.
What has been the biggest step forward for you as an artist or band recently?
In October last year we released our second EP “Lights Out” and it got some amazing reviews from The Crack, NARC and POWERPLAY Magazine. That was a real proud moment for us. We hope to build on that going forward!
Once Aelius is done, what’s next for you?
We are back in the studio in May. We can’t wait for the world to hear the new material we’ve got cooking up. We’ve got a couple of live dates coming up too:
May 9th – The Late Shows @ The Soundroom Gateshead
May 29th – Veritas Festival Launch Night @ The Globe Newcastle
