History of Utilita Arena Newcastle<\/h2>\n

The arena opened in November 1995 and was developed from a vision associated with former Animals musician Chas Chandler and Nigel Stanger. David Bowie played the venue during its opening period, and it has since welcomed generations of major touring artists, sports events and entertainment productions.<\/p>\n

Today the arena is operated by Legends Global and remains one of the North East\u2019s biggest indoor event spaces, with more than 40,000 square metres of space and seating for over 11,500 visitors depending on the event configuration.<\/p>\n
