Cast reunite with PP Arnold for new single

Cast are in the middle of a spectacular summer. Not only have they been getting the party started early throughout Oasis’s mammoth stadium show, but their recent single ‘Poison Vine’ (featuring P.P. Arnold) has been one of the biggest airplay hits of their entire career. It has hit Radio 2’s B-list and Radio X’s Daytime list as well as key playlists at Virgin Radio and Absolute Radio. There’s now to come too as Cast again team up with P.P. Arnold for the new single ‘Way It’s Gotta Be (Oh Yeah)’.

‘Way It’s Gotta Be (Oh Yeah)’ is the sound of Cast reborn with the same fire they had back when they started out with a succession of hits. It’s a soul-rock anthem that’s amplified by a muscular guitar riff, supported by a strutting groove which maximalises its fun factor. As with ‘Poison Vine’, P.P. Arnold elevates the song to another level, her soulful majesty providing a counterpoint to John Power’s warm, inimitable vocal – and her adlibs bring a touch of ‘Gimme Shelter’-style class too.

John Power says, “You’re told all your life this is the way it’s gotta be, when deep inside you know that’s just not true. You’re fed a narrative all your life that tells you how to feel about things that just don’t feel like you. ‘Way it’s Gotta Be (Oh Yeah)’ is a psychedelic funk song about walking your true walk and speaking your true talk.”

Both songs feature on Cast’s new album ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’ which will be released on January 30th 2026 via Scruff of the Neck. The band – completed by Liam ‘Skin’ Tyson (guitar) and Keith O’Neill (drums) – recorded the album with the renowned producer Youth (The Verve, Pink Floyd, Primal Scream) at his Space Mountain studio. It will be the follow-up to 2024’s acclaimed ‘Love Is The Call’, which achieved their highest album chart position in almost 25 years.

The pre-order campaign for ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’ got off to a flying start when a striking mouthwash effect liquid-filled 12″ vinyl quickly sold-out its entire limited edition run. The album is available to pre-order / pre-save HERE, with physical products including a cornetto-coloured vinyl, black vinyl, CD and cassette.

Cast have been winning a big reaction at every Oasis show this summer, with reviews hailing them as “excellent” (Manchester Evening News), “superb” (Liverpool Echo) and “infectious stuff from an infectious band” (Louder Than War). They have two outdoor shows on the calendar this weekend, and a pair of North American dates as guests to The Brian Jonestown Massacre, before they reunite with Oasis for a final pair of Wembley Stadium gigs.

Fans who have appreciated their short-sharp stadium sets can experience much more of Cast when they embark upon their ‘30 Years of All Change’ tour this autumn. With shows beginning to sell out months in advance, remaining tickets for the tour are available HERE.
