Bridge Folk Club Newcastle returns to The Bridge Hotel on Monday 21 September 2026, continuing one of the city’s longest-running weekly folk traditions from 7:30pm.
The club runs every Monday except bank holidays and mixes guest nights with singers’ and musicians’ sessions, giving performers and listeners a regular home for traditional and contemporary folk music in the city centre.
Bridge Folk Club at The Bridge Hotel
Founded in 1958, Bridge Folk Club describes itself as the second-oldest folk club in Britain and the oldest still running in its original venue. Over the years it has hosted local, national and international guests, while its regular singers’ nights remain a core part of the programme.
The club also stages feature nights involving students from Newcastle University’s Folk and Traditional Music course, keeping the weekly sessions connected to the next generation of North East performers.
