Formed in Bellingham, Washington in 1997, Death Cab for Cutie grew from Ben Gibbard’s early solo recordings into one of the most recognisable names in modern alternative rock. Their catalogue has moved through intimate indie songwriting, expansive guitar records and increasingly ambitious live shows, while albums including Transatlanticism and Plans remain central to the band’s story.
The new tour follows the release of I Built You A Tower. The album was produced and engineered by John Congleton and came together from a concentrated three-week run of sessions. It arrives after the band’s recent anniversary touring around Transatlanticism and Plans, giving this latest chapter a clear sense of looking forward rather than simply revisiting the past.
