Echoes of Distant Stars Bring Cosmic Psych to The Cumberland Arms
Echoes of Distant Stars bring their semi-improvised psych sound to The Cumberland Arms, Newcastle, on 21 November with The Glass Key, Distant Listening and Blind Squid.

Echoes of Distant Stars head to The Cumberland Arms on 21 November for a night of cosmic, exploratory sounds in the Ouseburn.
Table Of Content
The Newcastle outfit describe their sound as long-form, semi-improvised psych, moving between kosmische drift, prog weight and psych-folk haze. That mix should feel particularly at home in the intimate surroundings of The Cumberland Arms, with the band joined by three acts for a bill built around the more adventurous edges of psychedelia and experimental music.
Echoes of Distant Stars bring a four-act bill to Newcastle
Travelling from London for the show are The Glass Key, while Distant Listening — featuring Andrew of Warm Digits — and Blind Squid complete the line-up.
Rather than a conventional straight-ahead rock show, the evening promises music with room to stretch out. Echoes of Distant Stars’ semi-improvised approach brings an element of unpredictability to the set, drawing on hypnotic kosmische repetition, heavier progressive passages and hazier psych-folk textures.
With four acts sharing the bill, it is a strong option for anyone looking beyond Newcastle’s more traditional indie and rock gigs and towards something more atmospheric and exploratory.
