San Antone based singer-songwriter, Garrett T Capps masterful work incorporates fired-up country-rock and retro Tex-Mex instrumentation with a genuinely psychedelic worldview. Blurring the lines between experimental and traditional Texas music, if you will. Capps’ charismatically honest vocals and live-honed rock instincts guide the hyper-niche journey through Central Texas lore for his latest record, “I Love San Antone”, the Texas troubadour teamed up with local legends like Augie Myers, Rosie Flores & Santiago Jiménez Jr for a gem of an album. Over seven albums since 2016, Capps has toured to Holland various times, following in the footsteps of cosmic outlaw Doug Sahm, as well as festivals ranging from Pickathon to Levitation. Capps co-owns music venue The Lonesome Rose in San Antonio and co-organizes the annual Wizard Rodeo music festival in Austin.“It was the most fun I’ve ever had making a record,” says Capps of I Still Love San Antone. “And anytime I’ve released San Antonio music, it’s taken me to far away places.”
Ever evolving, Little Mazarn began in 2015 as the banjo-and-saw duo of Lindsey and Jeff, who were both raised in Dallas, but now live in Austin Texas. On cello, Lindsey has recorded on Patty Griffin’s Grammy-winning albums, Patty Griffin and Servant of Love, as well as with the band Dana Falconberry. Jeff has played in Bill Callahan’s band, as well as with Li’l Cap’n Travis and Orange Mothers.
“The music of Little Mazarn is a cool float a few feet from the ground through a dimly lit, almost familiar forest. It is quieter than silence, big as everything, still but always moving. If you’ve ever had flying dreams, or an amazing night time bike ride on LSD, this might be a world for you.” Thor Harris, Talkhouse
