Frazer Lambert and Never Settled Bring Folk Storytelling to Angels Cut Darlington
Frazer Lambert and Never Settled perform at Angels Cut in Darlington on Sunday 8 November 2026. Doors 7pm, music 7.30pm.
Two different routes into folk music meet in Darlington on Sunday 8 November, when Stockton-on-Tees songwriter Frazer Lambert shares a bill with Never Settled at Angels Cut. One brings a deeply personal folk-soul sound shaped by years of songwriting; the other takes a transatlantic approach, drawing on traditional folk while finding its own way forward.
Table Of Content
It is a pairing that should suit a smaller room. Lambert’s songs are built around the sort of subjects that reward close attention, while Never Settled’s acoustic interplay offers a contrasting take on roots music. For those following original music from across the North East, the evening brings two acts together without asking either to fit the other’s mould.

Frazer Lambert brings folk-soul storytelling to Darlington
Originally from Stockton-on-Tees, Frazer Lambert developed his songwriting over years spent playing and writing in the cafés of Amsterdam. The experience helped shape a style that blends folk songwriting with soulful vocals and direct, emotional storytelling.
His material explores grief, loss and personal journeys, treating difficult subjects as things to be shared rather than dressed up. Lambert has also attracted regional attention and airplay on BBC Introducing, where presenter Shakk has praised his ability as a songwriter. The draw here is the chance to hear that material up close, with the songs and his voice at the centre of the performance.
Never Settled explore transatlantic folk
Joining Lambert are Colm and Cameron, who previously performed as The Quiet Fire Duo and now work under the name Never Settled. The change of identity marks a new chapter for the pair as they prepare to record their debut EP.
Never Settled describe a tradition-rooted, transatlantic folk sound that is not fixed in one place. Their approach promises a useful counterpoint to Lambert’s intimate folk-soul: two musicians drawing on shared traditions while leaving room for their own interpretations and the particular chemistry of a duo.
Put together, the bill offers more than two acoustic sets on the same night. It is an opportunity to hear how contrasting writers and players use folk music to tell stories, connect with an audience and keep older musical ideas moving.
