Table Of Content
The event is listed from 6pm and gives performers another chance to take to the stage in one of Newcastle’s most artist-led independent venues. Unlike a fixed touring bill, Freshly Squeezed is built around whoever signs up and performs on the night, so each edition naturally develops its own mix of voices and styles.
Freshly Squeezed at Cobalt Studios
Cobalt describes Freshly Squeezed simply as its monthly open mic, keeping the format deliberately open rather than restricting it to a single genre. That makes the night useful both for musicians wanting to test new material and for audiences looking to discover performers they may not encounter on a standard ticketed line-up.
The event sits comfortably within Cobalt’s broader programme of grassroots music, club nights and participatory events. The venue’s approach often blurs the line between audience and performer, and an open mic is one of the clearest examples of that community-led model.
Eventbrite currently lists entry at £3.76. The series page covers multiple dates, with the SoundBite event record for this edition set to Tuesday 20 October at 6pm. Because Eventbrite groups the monthly dates together, anyone booking should make sure they select the October date rather than an earlier or later session.
No age restriction is stated on the event page we checked, so confirm with Cobalt directly if required.
Freshly Squeezed: Open Mic Night takes place at Cobalt Studios, 10 Boyd Street, Shieldfield, on Tuesday 20 October 2026 from 6pm.
