North East hard rockers Gwailo are currently preparing to release their debut album “You Got It” in November. The band will unveil the eagerly anticipated title track and lead single on Friday 28 th August, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the five piece.
The single will be accompanied by a high-octane video, which was captured by director Sam Taylor at a state-of-the-art television production studio in Sunderland. The video perfectly captures the band’s energetic live
performances.
Gwailo have become “Notorious for their live shows”, playing across the UK this North East outfit draw influence from rock heavyweights throughout the decades, twisting and fabricating their own form of bad-natured blues! Bringing edge, swagger and unbridled energy, they have been transporting audiences on a
Rock n Roll injected journey.
Last year saw Gwailo venture up and down the UK as well as making their debut on the continent. The band played shows alongside stars of the UK rock scene such as Black Spiders, JoanOvArc, Syteria, The Hot Damn, Gorilla Riot, Polish rockers Turbo and Beth Blade and the Beautiful Disasters. Subsequently, during the first half of 2025 Gwailo performed a run of shows in Poland including a show curated by Bloodstock Festival.
The band’s busy live scheduled continued to gain momentum throughout the course of 2026, where Gwailo supported US buzz band Starbenders, Syteria, NWOCR favourites Bad Actress and Thieves of Liberty at their sold-out hometown show in Newcastle.
Following recent appearances at both Breaking Bands festival and Cambridge Rock Festival earlier this summer, Gwailo will continue their run of high-profile festivals with appearances at both Planet Rockstock and Winterstorm in November.
Gwailo will round out the year with an eagerly anticipated headline show in the North East on Saturday 12 th December. With further details set to be unveiled in due course. Speaking of Gwailo, Stargazer Music Magazine remarked that the band “”Will keep heads bouncing and feet tapping from sofa to stage. So why not clear a space and give Gwailo a try”.
You Got It, the new single from Gwailo will be available on all streaming platforms on Friday 28 th August. For further information, and an up-to-date touring schedule please visit: https://www.gwailo.co.uk/.
