Johnny Cash Roadshow Sunderland Gig Preview

Johnny Cash Roadshow Sunderland returns to The Fire Station on Thursday 24 September 2026 with a new production celebrating the music and career of Johnny Cash.

The show is led by Clive John as Cash, joined by Meghan Thomas as June Carter and a live band featuring double bass, Telecaster and acoustic guitars, drums, piano, trumpet and four-part vocal harmonies.

This year’s production uses a Folsom Prison-style stage to frame a set that moves across Cash’s career, from the early recordings and familiar live favourites through to the darker material of the later American Recordings period.

Rather than a stripped-back impersonation show, the Roadshow is built as a full-band concert, with the arrangements and instrumentation designed to recreate the scale and character of Cash’s performances.
