Rudimental announce first Newcastle show in ten years

Rudimental will return to Newcastle for the first time in ten years, with the chart-conquering Drum & Bass group confirmed for a special DJ set at NX Newcastle on Saturday 12 December 2026.

Fresh from a major festival season, the trio will bring their latest DJ-led show to the city as they reconnect with the sounds, energy and sound system culture at the heart of their beginnings. The December date marks their first Newcastle appearance since 2016.

Rudimental return to their Drum & Bass roots

Founding friends Piers Aggett, Kesi Dryden and Leon ‘Locksmith’ Rolle have returned to their Drum & Bass foundations with fifth studio album RUDIM3NTAL. The record draws on the group’s sound system and pirate radio influences, with collaborators including Popcaan, Idris Elba, Khalid, MIST, Skepsis, Charlotte Plank, Riko Dan and Mystic Marley.

The album follows another major run of releases, including Top 10 hit ‘Dancing Is Healing’, while the Skepsis collaboration ‘Green & Gold’ became one of the standout Drum & Bass tracks of 2024.

The new era has also changed Rudimental’s live approach. While previous shows combined DJing with live instrumentation, the current incarnation puts the trio firmly behind the decks for a high-energy show built around the music and culture that first brought them together. Recent appearances have included Coachella, Glastonbury and Parklife.

A decade since Rudimental played Newcastle

Luke Rushfirth, Venue Manager at NX Newcastle, said: “Rudimental are a massive booking for NX and exactly the calibre of artist we want to keep bringing to Newcastle.

“They’ve got an incredible catalogue of records that people instantly know, but what makes this DJ show particularly exciting is where they are right now. They’ve gone back to their Drum & Bass roots and built a new show around that energy, so this feels like the perfect time to welcome them back to the city.

“It’s been a decade since Newcastle last had the chance to see Rudimental, and to have them here at NX for their return is something we’re really proud of. This is going to be a huge night.”

Born from East London’s pirate radio and sound system culture, Rudimental broke into the mainstream in 2012 when ‘Feel The Love’, featuring John Newman, reached Number One in the UK. Debut album Home followed in 2013, also reaching Number One, while ‘Waiting All Night’ featuring Ella Eyre later won British Single of the Year at the BRIT Awards.

Their run continued with second Number One album We The Generation, before ‘These Days’, featuring Jess Glynne, Macklemore and Dan Caplen, became the group’s third UK Number One single.

Rudimental play NX Newcastle on Saturday 12 December 2026. Pre-sale tickets are available from Thursday 1 October at 12 noon, with general sale following at 2pm the same day. Tickets and further information will be available through the official NX Newcastle website.
