Selkie brings debut EP inWaves to Little Buildings

Glasgow-based musician and producer Selkie brings debut EP inWaves to Little Buildings in Newcastle on Wednesday 7 October, with support from Marina Yozora.

The Newcastle date forms part of Selkie’s autumn UK tour and follows the release of inWaves in August 2026. The six-track debut moves through soft electronic music, ambient pop and voice-led sound design, combining electric guitar, atmospheric textures and flashes of trip-hop-inspired rhythm.

Selkie brings inWaves to Newcastle

inWaves explores distance, renewal and the gradual return of energy and connection. Across tracks including Hours, Heartspeak and Gold, Selkie leaves plenty of space around the songwriting, creating music designed to feel unhurried and immersive.

The project has already picked up support from BBC Introducing Scotland and BBC Radio Scotland, alongside coverage from EARMILK, The Slow Music Movement, The List and Get In Her Ears. The Skinny also included Selkie among its New Scottish Music for 2026.

Selkie has taken the project well beyond Scotland too. Since 2025, performances have included dates across Japan, Mexico and Chile, while the current UK run takes in Aberdeen, Bristol, Brighton, London and Manchester before reaching Newcastle.

Marina Yozora supports at Little Buildings

Marina Yozora joins Selkie for the Newcastle show, completing an evening centred on softer, atmospheric music as autumn settles in. The intimate setting of Little Buildings should suit the spacious sound of inWaves, giving the songs room to breathe away from a larger club environment.

After Newcastle, Selkie closes the announced UK run at The Old Hairdressers in Glasgow on 20 October.
