The point of Weetwood Mac is not visual imitation. The band is built around recreating the sound, arrangements and interplay of Fleetwood Mac’s best-known era, with a line-up drawing on musicians from Ellen & The Escapades, Wayward Sons and Hope & Social.
Weetwood Mac Newcastle puts the arrangements ahead of the costumes
The Cluny show focuses on recreating Fleetwood Mac’s sound rather than relying on costumes or parody, with the band drawing heavily from the Rumours era while also reaching into later favourites. That gives the performance a clearer musical purpose than a lookalike tribute built around visual references.
The set is expected to move through songs including Rhiannon, Say You Love Me, Everywhere and Little Lies, which means the band has to cover several different versions of Fleetwood Mac rather than staying in one narrow period. Vocal harmonies are central to that challenge, as are the guitar parts and rhythm arrangements that made the original recordings so distinctive.
The Cluny should suit that approach well. Its main room is intimate enough for the harmonies and instrumental detail to remain obvious, but still has the scale for the bigger choruses to feel communal rather than restrained. The result should feel more like a band playing Fleetwood Mac than a theatre production recreating the image of Fleetwood Mac.
Hannah Judson brings a different texture to the opening slot. Her indie folk-rock and Americana material includes 2025 album Satellites Grace the Sky Like Tumbleweeds, while recent touring has taken her across Europe and the United States. That makes the support choice more interesting than simply adding another tribute act to the bill.
