Wet Wet Wet at The Glasshouse will bring the band’s anniversary tour to Gateshead on Sunday 24 October 2027. Celebrating 40 years of their debut album Popped In Souled Out, the group will perform in Sage One at 7.30pm, joined by special guest Johnny Hates Jazz.

The anniversary show marks four decades since Popped In Souled Out introduced Wet Wet Wet to a wider audience. The 1987 record featured Wishing I Was Lucky, Sweet Little Mystery, Angel Eyes and Temptation, and the tour promises songs from that album alongside favourites released later in the band’s career.

The band’s early singles established their combination of pop songwriting and soul influences. Their run of hits continued well beyond the debut, including Goodnight Girl, With a Little Help from My Friends and Love Is All Around. Johnny Hates Jazz join the Gateshead bill as special guest. Their inclusion brings another act associated with late-1980s British pop to a concert whose main theme is a milestone from that same era.
