Finn Forster returns with defiant new single Blame It On You
Teesside-born and based Finn Forster returns with Blame It On You, a raw but anthemic new single ahead of October support dates with Des Rocs.
Finn Forster’s Blame It On You sees the Teesside-born and based artist return with a rousing new single that turns the breakdown of a relationship into something deliberately bigger than a traditional break-up ballad.
Built around Forster’s raw, soulful vocal, the track moves through blame, accountability and the process of accepting your own part in what went wrong. Rather than settling into melancholy, he wanted the song to feel direct, hooky and made to be played loud.

Finn Forster turns accountability into an anthem
“Blame It On You is a song that follows the breakdown of a relationship I had. Moving through blame and accountability,” Forster explains. “I wanted to tell a raw and honest story but not through the style of a traditional sad break up song. It’s cool, hooky and anthemic and meant to be played loud.”
The single follows Strangers, released in May, and a busy festival season that included TRNSMT, Boardmasters and the Isle of Wight Festival. Strangers also picked up national radio support, including BBC Radio 1, where Jack Saunders gave it its first play, alongside BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 2 and Radio X.
Forster now heads back on the road as support for New York rock artist Des Rocs. The October run begins at Manchester’s Gorilla on 10 October, followed by The Garage in London and dates across Hamburg, Berlin, Amsterdam, Prague, Budapest, Cologne, Paris and Milan.
The latest release continues a rapid period of development for an artist whose Teesside roots remain central to his story. During 2025 he appeared at the Mercury Prize Fringe in Newcastle, supported JADE at the BBC Proms and joined Stereophonics on UK and European dates, alongside receiving PPL Momentum support and being named a Tees Valley Artist of the Year.
Blame It On You is out now.
