Hear’Say and Liberty X are reuniting for a major 2027 arena tour, with Newcastle’s Utilita Arena among 13 dates across the UK and Ireland. The two groups, who found fame on the original Popstars television series, will share the stage for Popstars: The Originals on Tuesday 4 May 2027.

The announcement marks 25 years since the acts emerged from the show and promises a night built around some of the most recognisable British pop hits of the early 2000s.
Hear’Say and Liberty X reunite for Newcastle arena show
Four original Hear’Say members — Danny Foster, Kym Marsh, Suzanne Shaw and Noel Sullivan — are taking part in the reunion. Liberty X will appear with all five original members: Michelle Heaton, Jessica Taylor, Tony Lundon, Kevin Simm and Kelli Young.
Hear’Say topped the UK singles chart with Pure and Simple and followed it with another number one, The Way to Your Love. Their debut album Popstars also reached number one, establishing the group as one of the defining acts of the programme’s early success.
Liberty X, formed by five contestants who missed out on places in Hear’Say, went on to build their own run of hits. Their chart-topping Just a Little remains their signature song, alongside singles including Thinking It Over, Got to Have Your Love and Being Nobody.
Although the two acts share a television origin story, this tour is being billed as the first time they have performed together on the same stage. For Newcastle audiences, it offers the chance to revisit two very different sides of the same pop phenomenon in one arena show.
What the bands say about the reunion
Hear’Say describe coming back together after 25 years as “incredibly special”, saying they are looking forward to reconnecting with fans, revisiting memories and making new ones.
Liberty X say the anniversary feels like the right moment to bring the music and energy back to the stage, adding that they are excited to celebrate with both longtime followers and people discovering the songs again.

According to the tour announcement, presale registration opens access to tickets at 9am on Wednesday 14 October 2026. General sale begins at 9am on Friday 16 October 2026.
