Those recordings show different sides of Wolter’s songwriting, from the reflective feel of the first single to more rhythmic and brightly textured passages elsewhere on the album. Wolter previously made music with her brother Jack in Penelope Isles, but her new project has its own backstory. She began developing it as a teenager under the name KookieLou and returned to writing during lockdown before finally recording the songs for A Moment in My Eyes. The November gig therefore follows a debut album rather than an established run of My Precious Bunny releases stretching back many years. It is an especially timely chance to hear her current material in a live ensemble setting.
