Five North East Punk Bands Confirmed for Rebellion Festival 2027
Crashed Out, Hi-Fi Spitfires, Gimp Fist, In Evil Hour and Uproar are confirmed for Rebellion Festival 2027 in Blackpool.
North East punk will be well represented at Rebellion Festival 2027, with Crashed Out, Hi-Fi Spitfires, Gimp Fist, In Evil Hour and Uproar all appearing on the festival’s early-confirmation list. The four-day event returns to the Winter Gardens in Blackpool from 5–8 August 2027, bringing punk bands and audiences together across its indoor stages.
It is a strong showing for a region with a long history in punk music. These five names span South Tyneside, Sunderland and County Durham, and they are far from interchangeable: each brings its own history and sound to a festival known for mixing established bands with newer acts.
Five North East bands confirmed for Rebellion 2027
Crashed Out have flown the flag for Jarrow punk since 1995. The band describe their sound as melodic punk with a hard-rock edge, and their years of touring have taken them well beyond the North East. Their return to a major punk festival will give that mix of punch and melody another national platform.
Hi-Fi Spitfires come from Sunderland. The three-piece have toured extensively in the UK and Europe, and their own music draws on the urgency of classic British punk. They join the 2027 line-up alongside Gimp Fist, the County Durham street-punk band with a longstanding following in the scene.
In Evil Hour are based in Darlington. Their melodic punk and hardcore approach has taken them around the country, and they released Endure in June 2026. Uproar, meanwhile, trace their roots to Peterlee’s early-1980s punk scene, giving the North East contingent another link to the genre’s history.
