If your idea of a Christmas night out involves country music rather than carols, One Night in Nashville is heading for Sage One at The Glasshouse on Saturday 28 November.

The show brings the sound of Nashville to Gateshead for an evening built around country favourites and the atmosphere of a big live country show. It lands right at the start of The Glasshouse’s festive season, but you don’t need to be looking for a Christmas concert to get something from this one.

A Nashville night in Sage One

Country has become a much bigger part of the UK live circuit in recent years, and nights like this are a good reminder of just how broad that audience now is. Rather than squeezing the music into a club-sized tribute night, One Night in Nashville gets the space of Sage One to go bigger.

Expect a set aimed squarely at country fans, with the sort of songs designed for singing along rather than sitting quietly and admiring from a distance. For anyone who likes the modern Nashville sound as much as the classics, it should make for an easy Saturday night out.

There’s another North East-flavoured option elsewhere in the building that evening too, with Bob Fox and Stu Luckley playing Sage Two. Two very different shows, but a good snapshot of how varied The Glasshouse’s programme can be on a single night.

One Night in Nashville is part of a Christmas season that runs right through to New Year’s Day, with rock, folk, orchestral concerts, films with live scores and plenty more filling the weeks around it.
