Queens of the Pink Palace and TALES Play MND Fundraiser at The Globe

Queens of the Pink Palace and TALES share the bill at The Globe in Newcastle on Friday 25 September 2026 for a fundraising gig in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association. The event begins at 7pm and brings together two North East bands with different approaches to guitar-driven music. The organiser says that 100% of ticket sales, excluding the booking fee, will be donated to the charity, giving this particular Friday night an additional purpose beyond the performances.

Queens of the Pink Palace are a Newcastle-based covers band playing alt-rock and indie favourites. The group began with friends jamming together after hours and moved on to performing live, making their debut late last year. Their musical interests take in classic rock and the indie songs of the 2000s, so the set offers a chance to hear familiar material played by a local band. Rather than a tribute to just one act, the emphasis is on songs the audience can recognise and sing along with across more than one style.

TALES bring an original-music counterpart to the bill. The four-piece alt-rock and indie rock band has members from Sunderland and Newcastle and formed in September 2018. The group has played venues across the area, including Cluny 2, Think Tank?, Little Buildings, The Globe and Sunderland’s Independent. They have also recorded seven singles, with music receiving airtime through BBC Introducing North East.
