The London-based singer-songwriter will perform at the Ouseburn venue on Wednesday 24 March 2027, one of eight dates confirmed for the tour. Tickets go on sale at 10am on Thursday 15 October 2026.
The announcement arrives alongside her latest single, Apocalypse Queen, a collaboration with legendary producer Tony Visconti, whose work with David Bowie remains one of the defining partnerships in British rock music.

A new musical chapter
Recorded during an intensive ten-day period in Brooklyn and Manhattan, Apocalypse Queen offers a first taste of the direction de Bastion is taking with her new record.
The song explores humanity at a moment of crisis, pairing its darker subject matter with an increasingly bold and energetic musical approach. Rather than keeping those ideas within a stripped-back singer-songwriter format, de Bastion has been experimenting with a more expansive sound.
Two songs from the forthcoming album were recorded with Visconti in New York, while a further eight tracks were recorded in London with producer Steph Marziano, whose credits include Hayley Williams, Picture Parlour and Nell Mescal.
According to the press release, Apocalypse Queen brings together Visconti on bass and backing vocals, saxophonist Donny McCaslin, guitarist Gerry Leonard, guest vocalists Suzanne Vega and Rufus Wainwright, engineer Kevin Killen and drummer Gunnar Olsen. The song follows de Bastion’s earlier single Simple Pleasures.
“It was a moment when everything came together for me in the most beautiful way. The energy of the city provided the perfect backdrop. Recording in the middle of Brooklyn’s industrial wasteland fitted the apocalyptic theme and I had the best time completing the tracks at Human Studios, where Bowie recorded ‘Blackstar’, and sharing so many stories between takes.”
The ten-track album will include Here Lies Human, Simple Pleasures, Apocalypse Queen, This Is How The World Ends, Biometrics, So Long Forever, Vitamin Happy, New Town, Miracle and Becoming.
Here Lies Human is scheduled for release on Friday 12 February 2027.
From songwriting to storytelling
De Bastion’s work extends beyond music. Her book The Piano Player of Budapest, published in 2025, explores her family’s history through the story of her pianist grandfather, Stephen de Bastion, and the experiences that shaped his life. Her previous albums are Heirlooms & Hearsay (2017) and You & Me, We Are The Same (2021).
That interest in personal history and the wider human experience remains central to her songwriting, even as the sound surrounding those stories continues to change.
For Newcastle audiences, The Cumberland Arms provides an intimate setting to hear how that new material translates to the stage. The March and April dates represent her first full UK tour announcement since 2022, following festival appearances and support shows with artists including Ed Harcourt, The Anchoress and Howard Jones.
