Second and Third Thursdays every month – starting November 19th 2026
On the second and third Thursday of every month, we host ‘The Light Lounge’ – a space to unwind whilst discovering some of the region’s most exciting musicians and emerging artists. Whether you like a cocktail or cup of tea at the end of a long day, there are plenty of refreshments on offer from the Café.
November kicks off our Autumn into Winter Season with Simon Taylor (with band) and an acoustic set from Lost Lot.
Simon Taylor is a singer-songwriter from Newcastle upon Tyne in the North-East of England. His music combines elements of rock, pop, Latin and folk with musical influences ranging from Leonard Cohen to Serge Gainsbourg.
Lost Lot are an alt-country band from the North East, playing emotionally driven songs about love, loss hope and heartbreak. In this extra special evening set, Lost Lot scale back their set for a soft, acoustic take on their usual sound.
The Light’s regular exhibitions, ‘Victory Over the Sun’* and ‘We are the Durhams’ remain open throughout the evening to explore at your leisure.
