I’m driving top speed down the motorway, I’ve got my shades on and the roof is down. The Avelons are well and truly back. Following the release of their latest song “Rubbernecker”comes this outrageous, festival ready track – “Alice (On The Comeback)”

I’m in love with this song. It’s unabashedly Indie, with elements of Britpop thrown in for good measure. The chorus is infectious, I’ve literally been singing it to myself at work all day – I keep on getting asked who Alice is.
Whether “Alice” is a real person or not is unclear, what’s obvious though is that the band has gone up another level with this one. The song itself is a call to arms, for anyone that is down on their luck or simply having a bad day, put this song on and your mood is instantly lifted.
The instrumentation is superb, there’s an awful lot going on, but there isn’t anything production-wise or composition-wise that my ears disagree with. They’ve even added some beautiful strings, most prominent in the quieter sections of the track, that fill the negative sonic space wonderfully.
“Alice (On The Comeback)” will be available to stream on all major platforms from the 21st of August. Drive safe!
