Velocidad returns to The Globe for a free hardcore night

Velocidad at The Globe returns to Newcastle on Saturday 3 October 2026 for a free late-night session built around hardcore, tekno, jungle and gabber. The event runs from 10pm until 3am, takes place upstairs in the venue and is strictly 18+.

The organisers are taking the night into The Globe’s upstairs room this time, which should change the feel immediately. A smaller space makes this kind of music hit harder: less distance between the sound system and the crowd, less room for the energy to disperse and more of the claustrophobic intensity that suits faster electronic styles.

The musical brief is deliberately broad but coherent. Tribe, tribecore, jungle techno, jungle, tekno, gabber and mental all sit under the same roof, with the emphasis on speed, rhythm and physical impact rather than one narrowly defined scene.

Sound comes from Skrews Loose, with the night also promising live tekno, a heavy rig and added decor. Those details matter because the atmosphere here is meant to come from the whole room, not just whoever is behind the decks.

The free-entry format makes it easy to drop in, but there is a clear warning attached: once the upstairs room reaches capacity, that is it. For a Saturday night with no ticket cost, arriving earlier rather than later is likely to be sensible.

Velocidad’s return also adds another strand to The Globe’s already varied programme. The venue can move from jazz and live bands to underground electronic nights without flattening everything into the same format, and this one is very much at the harder end of that spectrum.
