about the song
Sad Song is a song about trying to carry on as if you’re okay when deep down you’re not. It has an energetic instrumental to grab the listeners attention as well as the sad lyrics to show the true feelings behind the song whilst maintaining a catchy hook.
It was recorded and self produced at my own studio and was written in a rehearsal when the idea of the hook came to my head. I then wrote the lyrics about how I was feeling at the time.

Artist Biography
Failed To Ignite is an Emo/Pop-Punk artist from Newcastle creating a full band sound from just a guitar, drum and loop pedal. Think Ed Sheeran, but edgier, and is an independent singer songwriter from the North East of England who writes, produces, publishes and performs songs entirely on his own.
He has played all across the UK, had multiple sold out headline shows has released his first EP in October 2025 along with a sold out release show
The unique aspect of being a ‘one-man-band’ entices audience to watch the magic of his music building up each instrument at a time. Taking sounds from the pop punk and ‘Emo’ music scene, Failed To Ignite’s performance is unique to the Alternative/Emo and Pop-Punk genre.
