Burt Bacharach’s songbook takes centre stage at The Glasshouse on Saturday 10 October 2026 as What The World Needs Now comes to Sage One with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. Rumer, Shaun Escoffery and Ed Harcourt are among the featured performers, with longtime Bacharach arranger and music director Rob Shirakbari leading the evening.
The programme draws on one of popular music’s most recognisable catalogues, including songs such as “Walk on By”, “The Look of Love”, “Alfie” and “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head”. Rather than presenting those songs as straight copies, the show places them in full orchestral arrangements shaped by Shirakbari’s long working relationship with Bacharach.
