Jimmy Nail Stories and Songs at The Glasshouse | Preview
Jimmy Nail brings Stories and Songs to The Glasshouse Gateshead for four October 2026 performances in Sage One.
Jimmy Nail brings Stories and Songs home to the North East for four October performances at The Glasshouse, beginning on Sunday 11 October 2026. The Gateshead run combines music, memories and rarely seen images, with Nail joined by long-time collaborator Tony Davis on keyboards and accordion for a stripped-back look across his career.

The show reaches from Auf Wiedersehen, Pet and Spender through to Crocodile Shoes, hit records and later stage work, giving Nail room to tell the stories behind a career that has moved between television, music, film and theatre. The format is deliberately intimate, so the songs sit alongside anecdotes and reflections rather than being presented as a conventional full-band concert.

Demand has already turned the Gateshead stop into a residency-style run, with two performances on Sunday 11 October followed by further shows on Monday 12 and Tuesday 13 October. A fifth and final date has also been added for 3 November, although this preview focuses on the four October performances.
For a Newcastle-born artist whose career has been so closely tied to the region, the return to The Glasshouse gives the show an added sense of place. Sage One offers the scale for a major homecoming while the seated format should still preserve the conversational feel at the centre of the production.
