Courtney Barnett at The Glasshouse | Gateshead Gig Preview
Courtney Barnett brings new album Creature of Habit to The Glasshouse Gateshead on 14 October 2026 with support from Body Type.
Courtney Barnett returns to Gateshead on Wednesday 14 October 2026 with a Sage One show at The Glasshouse and support from Body Type. The Australian songwriter arrives with Creature of Habit, a new album shaped by change, observation and the kind of sharply drawn everyday detail that has defined her writing from the start.

Barnett first broke through with Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, but her career has never stood still around that early success. The new material pushes into a more reflective space without losing the dry humour, guitar bite and restless energy that have made her one of the most distinctive songwriters of her generation.

Sage One gives Barnett room to bring out both sides of the set, from quieter storytelling to the heavier guitar moments that make her live shows feel more physical than the records sometimes suggest. Body Type should also suit the bill well, bringing another Australian guitar band into the room and giving the evening a clear musical through-line from support to headliner.
The date is currently listed with limited availability, so it has already built strong demand well ahead of October. That makes the show one of the standout alternative bookings in The Glasshouse’s autumn calendar rather than simply another stop on the tour.
