Martin Taylor brings his Standards UK Tour to The Glasshouse in Gateshead on Sunday 18 October 2026, with Sage Two providing an intimate setting for one of Britain’s most respected fingerstyle jazz guitarists. The show coincides with a new album of the same name, built around fresh arrangements of music from the Great American Songbook.

Taylor’s technique is the obvious draw, but the appeal of his solo shows lies just as much in the way he shapes familiar material into something personal. Without a full band around him, the arrangements have to carry melody, harmony and rhythm at once, which gives the performance a distinctive sense of movement.
