Boilermaker and Darlington’s punk scene

Boilermaker are a Darlington punk band with a strong connection to the town’s grassroots live circuit. The band have become a familiar name around The Forum Music Centre, while their place on regional punk bills has kept them closely tied to the wider North East scene.

That local connection is particularly clear in 2026. Boilermaker return to The Forum as part of Riverside Rebellion 10 on 28 November, a seven-band punk festival mixing local and national acts. The tenth anniversary event is another substantial hometown appearance for a band that has repeatedly been part of Darlington’s punk calendar.

Street punk from Darlington

Boilermaker’s music sits firmly in the street-punk and Oi! tradition, built for a live setting rather than polished around the edges. Their material has developed a following through direct, working-class punk songs and regular appearances on bills alongside established names from the UK scene.

The Forum has been an important venue in that story. As Darlington’s dedicated live music venue, it has provided a regular home for punk shows, all-day events and local line-ups, and Boilermaker have remained part of that network rather than treating the town simply as another tour stop.

Boilermaker live in the North East

Riverside Rebellion 10 brings Boilermaker onto a bill headed by Hung Like Hanratty, alongside Headsticks, Guitar Gangsters, Cazimi, The Puncturists and Breaking Point UK.
