Darlington Rhythm & Tunes 2026 Brings Three Days of Live Music Across the Town

Darlington Rhythm & Tunes 2026 takes over the town centre from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 September, bringing a mix of blues, rock, pop, country and soul to venues across Darlington. The council-backed weekend marks 30 years since the first Rhythm ’n’ Blues event and combines free outdoor shows with performances in several independent venues.

The programme starts on Friday evening with Emily & Stu at Vesuvio, Kerrison Collective at The Forum Music Centre, The Mainline at The Britannia and Black Caddillac at The Old English Gentleman. It then expands into the Market Square on Saturday, where Blondied, Fu Fighters and Chilifornication take over the main stage before Alex Fawcett Band close the evening at The Quakerhouse.

Sunday continues from 1pm in Market Square with The Boneshakers, The Addiction, John Verity Band and Band of Friends. Alongside the main programme, the wider Rhythm & Blues Fringe brings more music into venues around the town centre, giving the weekend the feel of a proper multi-venue festival rather than a single-stage event.

That spread of locations is one of the strongest parts of Rhythm & Tunes. The Forum, Vesuvio, The Britannia and The Quakerhouse all bring their own audiences into the weekend, while the Market Square gives people a chance to drop into the festival without needing a ticket. It also puts grassroots venues alongside a large outdoor stage, which is useful for both established touring acts and regional performers.
