Te’Kiah is an emerging North East artist developing through the Northern Roots programme, which brings together new regional talent across contemporary Black music and related sounds.
In October 2026, Te’Kiah appears at the Mercury Prize x Northern Roots showcase at Pilgrim Newcastle, part of the wider Mercury Prize Fringe. The bill brings together artists including Maniko, Chloe Castro, TMJ, Kay Greyson, Mcxxne, Shakk and Sisi, with DJ Miss Bundz and Jamal G also involved.
That showcase places Te’Kiah firmly within a current network of North East artists building their audience through collaborative events, development programmes and grassroots stages. It is an early but meaningful step in a live story that is still taking shape.
