SouLutions are a North East modern-soul outfit built around the songwriting partnership of Steve Lee and Louise Mehan. The pair have performed together for more than two decades and began writing their own material in 2007 before the SouLutions project properly took shape in 2014.
Their sound draws heavily on Philly and modern soul, led by Mehan’s vocals and expanded on stage by a full band. Albums including Destiny, Thankful, Fate and Anthology sit alongside a long run of singles and remixes that have built the group an audience across the UK soul scene.
In 2026 the group released their version of Overdose of Joy, a song they had already been performing live for more than a year, and brought the accompanying European tour back home to Newcastle. That balance between wider soul-scene recognition and a strong North East base remains central to the project.
