Christmas Massaoke
Christmas Massaoke comes to The Glasshouse as part of its Christmas 2026 programme. Find the date, venue details and official ticket information.
Christmas Massaoke is back in Gateshead on Thursday 3 December, and subtle probably isn’t the word for it.
The festive singalong takes over Sage One at The Glasshouse for a night built around big Christmas songs, big voices and an audience that is very much expected to join in. If you’d rather belt out the songs than politely listen to them, this is probably your night.
A full-volume Christmas singalong
Massaoke works because it doesn’t pretend the crowd are there to behave themselves. The whole point is joining in, so expect familiar lyrics, a live-show atmosphere and plenty of people discovering just how loudly they can sing after a couple of festive drinks.
That makes it a very different proposition from many of the concerts around it in The Glasshouse’s Christmas programme. Dave McCabe is in Sage Two on the same evening, while orchestral performances and film concerts fill much of the rest of December.
Christmas Massaoke is more about letting loose. It’s the kind of event that makes sense for a group night out, an early Christmas get-together or anyone who has already started playing the festive playlist at home and wants to take it somewhere considerably bigger.
With Sage One as the setting, there should be enough voices in the room to make even the most overplayed Christmas favourite sound huge.
