London Symphonic Rock Orchestra
London Symphonic Rock Orchestra comes to The Glasshouse as part of its Christmas 2026 programme. Find the date, venue details and official ticket information.
Rock anthems and a full orchestra are taking over Sage One when London Symphonic Rock Orchestra return to The Glasshouse on Sunday 29 November.
This is very much the louder end of the venue’s Christmas programme. Rather than easing into December with carols, the orchestra take familiar rock material and give it the scale of a large live ensemble.
Rock gets the orchestral treatment
The appeal is fairly simple: songs already built around huge riffs and choruses become even bigger when strings and orchestral arrangements are added to the mix. In Sage One, there’s enough room for that combination to properly breathe rather than feeling like a novelty squeezed onto a smaller stage.
It should work particularly well for people who enjoy the drama of classic rock but also want something a little different from a standard tribute or touring-band show. The orchestra’s approach is about bringing the two worlds together rather than sanding the edges off the music.
The date follows Tony Hadley, Hector Gannett, One Night in Nashville and Bob Fox and Stu Luckley in a busy opening weekend for The Glasshouse’s festive programme. That makes it a pretty varied few days in Gateshead before December has even started.
If Christmas music can wait another week, this looks like a good way to spend the final Sunday night of November.
