The original Ruts emerged from London in 1977, combining punk’s urgency with reggae and dub. Their best-known songs include Babylon’s Burning, In a Rut and Something That I Said. The band’s musical story continued as Ruts DC after the death of singer Malcolm Owen, with their later work exploring those influences in new directions.

The current band features original members Dave Ruffy and Segs Jennings alongside guitarist Leigh Heggarty.
