The Tony & the Kiki Newcastle gig brings a flamboyant collision of rock, disco, punk and soul to The Cluny on Thursday 12 November 2026. Support comes from BEKS, opening a bill designed around bold pop instincts, queer expression and performance that treats the visual spectacle as part of the music.

Tony & the Kiki combine gritty New York glamour and disco decadence with punk, soul and high-voltage rock anthems. Their reference points include Blondie, Queen and Scissor Sisters, but the band channel those influences through a modern theatrical style rather than presenting a straightforward retro exercise.
That approach has helped them build a cult audience and attract praise from an unusually broad group of established artists. Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, Cyndi Lauper, Grace Slick and Fred Durst have all been named among the band’s admirers. The variety of that list mirrors a sound able to move between glamour, heavy guitars and dancefloor release.
The group recently appeared as the featured guest on the Lords of Acid single El Mundo Está Loco. They also joined the band across more than 30 American cities on the Cheeky Freaky Tour. Those dates sharpened a performance already described through volume, chaos and deliberate excess.
The Cluny should give that arena-minded presentation an interesting setting. Its compact room will bring the costumes, movement and audience interaction close, while the band’s large hooks have enough scale to push beyond the stage. Meanwhile, BEKS adds a separate opening voice before the headliners take the evening into louder and more theatrical territory.

Doors open at 7:30pm. Advance tickets cost £16.50 plus fees. The show is for ages 16 and over, and under-18s must attend with an adult. Tickets are available through the venue’s official ticketing partner.
