WEARSIDE FIVESOME HAVE ONE MORE TRICK UP THEIR SLEEVES FOR 2026
BBC Radio 1 favourites bring a breakthrough year to The Cluny on Friday 23 October, with Kestrel and Ollie Marks confirmed as special guests.
FINAL TICKETS NOW ON SALE!

With final tickets now on sale, Sunderland’s fast-rising art-pop five-piece Swindled are preparing for their first-ever Newcastle headline show at The Cluny on Friday 23 October, rounding off an extraordinary year that has seen them go from North East favourites to one of the region’s most talked-about new bands.
And in typically Swindled fashion, the band have another surprise up their sleeves, confirming the forthcoming release of a brand-new single and accompanying music video, Trick or Treat, out Friday 30th October.
Despite its perfectly timed arrival around Halloween, the track has absolutely nothing to do with the spooky season. Instead, it’s another characteristically offbeat addition to the band’s growing catalogue of sharp, unpredictable indie-pop.
The announcement comes as Swindled prepare to take over the iconic Ouseburn venue, with fellow rising acts Kestrel and Ollie Marks now confirmed as support.
It’s the latest milestone in a remarkable 2026 for the Sunderland outfit, whose rapid ascent has included a dream appearance at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in their hometown, national radio support, a string of major festival appearances and live dates alongside Reverend and The Makers and Dodgy.
Earlier this year, the band were named among BBC Introducing’s Ones to Watch for 2026, while singles Endless Depression and Sexual Fantasies and Loved Up and Worried have both received multiple plays on BBC Radio 1.
Their growing reputation has also taken them to Brighton’s The Great Escape, Kendal Calling and Lindisfarne Festival, alongside a sold-out headline appearance at The Glasshouse in Gateshead.
Known for their sky-high harmonies, razor-sharp lyrics, synchronised moves and theatrical live performances, Swindled have quickly developed a reputation for shows that are as entertaining as they are unpredictable.
Now, with their first Newcastle headline show approaching, the band are preparing to bring that chaos to The Cluny.
In a statement, Swindled said: “What a ridiculous year it’s been. We’ve played some incredible stages, met some wonderful people and somehow managed to get ourselves on Radio 1 more than once. Now we’re finally getting to headline Newcastle, which feels like a pretty big moment for us.
“The Cluny is one of those venues every North East band wants to play, so we’re going to make sure it’s a night to remember. We’ve got Kestrel and Ollie Marks joining us, some new tricks up our sleeves and absolutely no intention of behaving ourselves.
“And yes, we’ve got a new song called Trick or Treat coming out around Halloween. No, it’s not about Halloween. That would be far too straightforward.”
Formed in Sunderland, Swindled have spent the past two years building a fiercely loyal following with their colourful brand of guitar-driven art-pop, combining infectious melodies, theatrical performances and a healthy disregard for convention.
With a new single and video on the horizon, and their biggest Newcastle headline show to date just days away, the band are showing no signs of slowing down.
Swindled headline The Cluny, Newcastle, on Friday 23 October 2026, with support from Kestrel and Ollie Marks.
Doors open at 7.30pm. Advance tickets are priced at £10 plus booking fees. The show is open to ages 16 and over, with under-18s accompanied by an adult.
