Joanne Shaw Taylor plays PLAYHOUSE Whitley Bay on 4 May 2027 in support of The Trouble With Love. Presale and ticket details.
Joanne Shaw Taylor will bring her May 2027 UK tour to PLAYHOUSE Whitley Bay on Tuesday 4 May, following the release of her eleventh studio album, The Trouble With Love.
Table Of Content
The North East date sits near the start of an eight-show run across the UK, with the British blues-rock guitarist and singer heading to Whitley Bay after concerts in Harpenden and Leeds. For local audiences, it is a chance to hear material from the new record alongside songs from a catalogue that stretches back to her 2009 debut, White Sugar.
A new album and a return to the stage
The Trouble With Love is released by Journeyman Records on Friday 23 October 2026, the same day tickets for the tour go on general sale. The title track is already available to hear, offering an introduction to the record ahead of the spring concerts.
Taylor’s music has long moved between blues, rock and soul, with guitar playing at the centre of her live performances. Discovered in her teens by Dave Stewart, she has gone on to release albums including Reckless Heart, Heavy Soul and Black & Gold. The upcoming dates put the latest release into a live setting rather than leaving fans to hear the songs only on record.
Joanne Shaw Taylor at PLAYHOUSE Whitley Bay
The concert takes place on Tuesday 4 May 2027 at PLAYHOUSE Whitley Bay, Marine Avenue, Whitley Bay. It follows the Leeds City Varieties Music Hall date on 3 May, with further shows scheduled in London, Bury St Edmunds, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow.
The PLAYHOUSE’s seated theatre setting makes this a different proposition from a standing blues-rock club show: the focus will be on Taylor, her musicians and the songs. The performance start time and support act have not yet been confirmed in the details supplied, so visitors should check the venue or ticket provider before travelling.
