Patrick Gosling – Tombstone Valley – Out 28 October
South Shields songwriter Patrick Gosling releases Tombstone Valley on 28 October, drawing inspiration from Ennio Morricone.
“If your shelf is populated with the likes of Wilco, Mac DeMarco, Big Thief, Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen, all odds point to you populating it with Patrick Gosling too.” – Narc Magazine
Hailing from coastal South Shields, Patrick Gosling has been plucking away at his solo project for six years now, carving out his path into becoming one of the most prominent musical talents in North East England. Having joined his very first band at eleven years old, the songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist is a sturdy diamond in a minefield of hidden gems.
It’s a deep-rooted, strongly led DIY ethic that has pointed Patrick to where he is now – he has garnered opportunities for himself that many could only dream of, hitting the continent to play festivals in Germany, supporting local heroes The Futureheads, selling out headline shows and even joining the elite club of musicians to be invited by Sunderland AFC to perform on the Stadium of Light pitch pre-match.
With a growing online community clamouring for more than TikTok snippets and demos, a new era beckons. Early support from BBC Introducing has now led to airplay on BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6Music, to go alongside multiple playlist spots on Apple Music and beyond. The ever prolific Gosling is sitting on the biggest catalogue of his career so far and is itching to share it far and wide…
“I wrote Tombstone Valley around 2024 after becoming obsessed with old Ennio Morricone soundtracks like The Good the Bad and The Ugly and A Fistful of Dollars.”

Following the great reception that previous single and fan favourite, Resembles Heaven, received, Patrick was keen to showcase a complete tonal shift that represents the changing in the seasons and the diversity of his catalogue. As is always the case with Gosling’s writing, there is still a hugely personal connection at the heart of the track.
“I used to watch those movies with my grandad when I was young and it was always the music that stood out to me. This is my attempt at writing one of those songs.”
Pat and the band head out again for another run of dates to celebrate this release, including shows in Sheffield, Stockton, Glasgow and a very special BBC Introducing showcase at The Glasshouse in Gateshead. All information can be found via @patrickgoslingmusic on socials.

Tombstone Valley will be available everywhere from October 28th, soundtracking Autumn coming to an end and the long, dark, introspective nights drawing in.
