Little Grandad Bring Speak Softly, Son Album Launch to Beyond Vinyl in Newcastle
Little Grandad play an intimate in-store show and signing at Beyond Vinyl in Newcastle on 27 January 2027, celebrating debut album Speak Softly, Son.
Little Grandad will bring their debut album Speak Softly, Son to Newcastle for an intimate performance and signing at Beyond Vinyl on Wednesday 27 January 2027. Taking place just five days after the record’s scheduled release, the event offers a chance to hear the London four-piece in a setting rather different from a traditional gig venue.
Table Of Content
Doors open at 6pm, with the live performance due to begin at 6.30pm. Entry is available through an album-and-admission bundle, with both CD and clear vinyl options advertised by the shop.
A new album and a smaller room
Formed in 2025, Little Grandad draw together Americana, slacker rock and British indie guitar music. Their debut is released through Communion Records on Friday 22 January 2027, with producer Kev Jones, whose credits include work with Wunderhorse, behind the record.
The ten-track album includes ‘Sleepwalking’, ‘Unmasked’, ‘Babe, We’ve Run Out Of Time’ and ‘Tiny Feet’. It brings the group’s early singles together with further material, giving this in-store performance a particular sense of occasion so soon after the release.
There is something appealing about hearing an emerging guitar band play inside a record shop. Without the usual separation between stage and crowd, an album launch can become a conversation as much as a performance. The signing afterwards adds another opportunity for people who have followed the singles to meet the musicians behind them.
