Schak Brings Christmas Homecoming to NX Newcastle This December

Schak returns to NX Newcastle on Friday 18 December 2026 for a Christmas homecoming that brings Makina and hard dance to the heart of the city. The Geordie DJ and producer will headline a seven-hour Black Eye Friday rave alongside MDDLTN, Nanna Makina, Symmetrik and special guest Junkie Kid, with music running from 9pm until 4am.

The NX Loves show lands as Schak’s new collaboration with Dutch duo W&W and DJ Skryker, Impacto (Makina), is finding listeners beyond the North East. The track passed 250,000 streams within days of release, according to the event announcement. Its Makina sound offers a good idea of the high-energy atmosphere fans can expect when Schak returns home for the festive season.

For anyone who has followed Schak from Moving All Around (Jumpin’) to his recent releases, this hometown date offers a chance to hear how his sound has developed. His sets draw on the rave, trance, happy hardcore and Makina records that shaped his early years. He has since taken those influences to clubs and festivals in the UK and abroad, while his ThirtyThree label and events platform have helped make space for newer high-energy dance music.

There is a particular local connection to this show. Schak grew up with Makina in the North East, and the Christmas return puts that sound back in front of a Newcastle crowd at one of the city’s busiest weekends of the year. In announcing the event, he said he was excited to see Makina reach a new generation and called the homecoming a way to celebrate that moment with the people who know the music.

Schak is joined by MDDLTN, whose sets move between hard dance, techno, trance and hard house. Belfast duo Symmetrik add a further dose of trance and hard dance, while Nanna Makina returns with the sounds that have made her a familiar name to North East ravers.
