The Avelons return to Cluny 2

The Avelons at Cluny 2 puts one of Newcastle’s rising guitar bands back into a hometown room on Saturday 21 November 2026. Doors open at 7pm, tickets are priced from £8 to £10 plus fees and the show is 16+.

The Avelons at Cluny 2: hometown momentum

The four-piece have built their audience through a mix of melodic indie, alt-rock weight and the sort of choruses designed to grow in a live room. That combination has already earned them support from BBC Introducing, Radio X, Fresh On The Net, Amazing Radio, RGM and CLOUT.

The more important part of their rise, though, has happened onstage. Sold-out hometown headline shows have given the band a clear local base, while appearances at Isle of Wight Festival, Y Not Festival and Stockton Calling have pushed them in front of wider audiences.

They have also shared bills with The Clause, The Lilacs, Tom A. Smith, The Slates and The Covasettes, placing them alongside a wider wave of UK guitar bands building audiences through constant touring rather than waiting for one breakout moment.

Cluny 2 is a strong fit for where The Avelons are now. It is intimate enough for the band’s energy to feel immediate but established enough to give a hometown headline the sense of an occasion. For a group whose reputation is increasingly tied to live performance, that matters.

The show also arrives at a useful point in their development. Every return to Newcastle gives the band a chance to measure how quickly the audience is growing and how newer material is landing beside the songs that first built their following.
