Callum Beattie’s new independent era has made the best possible start, with the news that his brand new album ‘INDI’ is #4 in the UK Official Album Charts today – making it the highest charting album of Callum’s career so far. The album has also hit the number 1 spot in the Scottish Official Album Charts.
This week also saw the campaign heat up with the launch of a special new limited edition CD format. Priced at just £5 and available HERE, all proceeds from the CD will be donated to The INDI Foundation, a new charity founded by Callum and his manager Dave Rogers.
The pair created the charity to champion creativity, opportunity and access to music education. Through hands-on songwriting and creative workshops in deprived areas, The INDI Foundation aims to inspire young people, build confidence, and nurture self-expression where it’s needed most. Alongside this work in local communities, the charity is also building a dedicated music school in Ghana, creating long-term access to creative education and resources. At its heart, The INDI Foundation believes that creativity can change lives — no matter where you’re from.
Callum will launch the charity with a special pop-up event at Assai Records in Glasgow this Thursday, where copies of the £5 charity CD will also be available.
Callum says, ““I absolutely cannot believe it. A true triumph for independence. No big budgets, no major labels. Just pure drive and passion – I’m totally overwhelmed.”
Dave Rogers adds, “To have come from selling under 30 tickets a few short years ago to this is just incredible. We’ve built a campaign from the ground up with our brilliant partners at Cooking Vinyl. It’s a triumph for all independent artists.”
While the ‘INDI’ album has shaped Callum’s artistic style with his best record yet, its campaign has also elevated him to new heights. Recent highlights have included a huge sold-out headline arena show at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro, Radio 2 playlists for both ‘Pins and Needles’ and ‘Two Pretenders’, and a powerful performance of ‘Green Grow the Rashes’ with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestraas part of the Burns Night celebrations.
As well as the new £5 CD format, physical formats include a picture disc, an orange-and-yellow swirl vinyl, a coke bottle green vinyl, a 2CD Deluxe Edition, the 2CD Glasgow Edition and a white cassette.
Callum’s acoustic record store tour kicks off in February ahead of a tour of England in March. July brings two of his biggest ever headline shows – Edinburgh Castle and the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival.
