We Are Scientists celebrate With Love & Squalor at Boiler Shop

We Are Scientists at Boiler Shop arrives in Newcastle on Tuesday 6 October 2026 as part of the band’s anniversary run celebrating With Love & Squalor. The trio will play the 2005 album in full, bringing one of their defining records back to the stage more than two decades after its release.

The album helped establish We Are Scientists as one of the most distinctive indie-rock acts of the mid-2000s, powered by songs including ‘Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt’, ‘The Great Escape’ and ‘It’s a Hit’. Its mix of wiry guitars, sharp melodies and restless energy still sits at the heart of the band’s live reputation, so hearing the record front to back should make this Newcastle date more than a standard tour stop.

Boiler Shop is a strong fit for the anniversary show. The former industrial building has enough scale for the bigger choruses while still feeling close enough to keep the performance direct.
