Fateweaver and North East metalcore

Fateweaver are a metalcore band from Darlington, formed in January 2024. The current line-up features Dalton on vocals, Northey and Danny on guitars, Ollie on bass and Sam on drums. Their sound pulls together metalcore, groove metal, hardcore and deathcore, giving the band a heavy style built around breakdowns, sharp guitar work and a direct live approach.

The band established themselves quickly. Their debut EP Americana arrived in 2024, followed by further material including REGRET and Grace. In 2025, Sam joined as drummer, replacing original member Nath, while a re-recorded version of Americana gave the early songs a heavier and more polished sound.

Live shows have become a big part of the band’s development. Fateweaver have appeared on heavy bills around the UK while continuing to keep Darlington and the wider North East at the centre of their identity. That local connection is clear in the way they describe themselves as North East metalcore, and it also places them alongside a growing group of regional artists pushing heavier music into grassroots venues.

Going into 2026, Fateweaver moved under new management with Bitter Edge Entertainment and continued writing towards their next EP. The aim has been to build on the aggression of the early material without losing the groove and clarity that helped the band stand out in the first place.

For SoundBite North East, Fateweaver are worth following because they represent a newer generation of Darlington heavy music. They have a defined sound, a settled current line-up and enough recorded material behind them to show clear progress since forming.
