Dave McCabe Brings The Zutons Songs and Solo Material to The Glasshouse
Dave McCabe of The Zutons plays The Glasshouse, Gateshead on 3 December 2026 with very special guest James Jay Lewis.

Dave McCabe at The Glasshouse comes to Gateshead on Thursday 3 December 2026, with The Zutons frontman and songwriter joined by very special guest James Jay Lewis for an 8pm show in Sage Two.
McCabe is best known as the voice and principal songwriter behind The Zutons, but this date is built around a broader look at his writing career. His recent solo work gives him another route into the songs, while the set is expected to pull together familiar Zutons favourites, material he has written for other artists and newer tracks from his current solo chapter.
Dave McCabe at The Glasshouse
The Gateshead date follows a run of shows pairing McCabe with James Jay Lewis, and The Glasshouse says the earlier dates quickly gathered momentum. Lewis brings a strong musical connection of his own. The Liverpool-born multi-instrumentalist has worked with Cast and The La’s, while steadily building a solo catalogue rooted in melodic British guitar songwriting.
That makes the support slot more substantial than a standard opening set. The two musicians also play together across parts of the night, which should give the show a more collaborative feel and allow songs from different stages of their careers to sit alongside each other naturally.
Sage Two should suit the format well. It is an intimate enough room for the songwriting and stories to remain central, but large enough for the bigger Zutons material to lift when the full arrangements kick in. For anyone who knows McCabe mainly through songs such as those from The Zutons’ breakthrough years, the show also offers a chance to hear how his writing has developed outside the band.
The official Glasshouse listing confirms an 8pm start on Thursday 3 December, with tickets currently listed at £26.80. Under-14s must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets and current event information are available directly from The Glasshouse.
James Jay Lewis joins the Gateshead date
James Jay Lewis is confirmed as the very special guest for the show. His background across Liverpool’s guitar scene and his work alongside established acts gives the pairing a natural fit, while his own songs bring a different tone to the bill before McCabe takes centre stage.
Stage times beyond the advertised 8pm start were not confirmed when this preview was checked. Event timings and other details can change, so check The Glasshouse or the artists’ official channels before travelling.
