F54 brings industrial electronica to The Cumberland Arms
F54 brings Nadine Hurley, Crimewave and Sin Clair to The Cumberland Arms for a night of industrial electronica on Friday 16 October.
The F54 Mercury Prize Fringe showcase will bring a trio of distinctive electronic artists to The Cumberland Arms in Newcastle on Friday 16 October 2026.
Featuring Nadine Hurley, Crimewave and Sin Clair, the event is built around the North’s long and complicated relationship with industry. F54 frames that history as a creative starting point: music shaped by post-industrial places, mechanical repetition and the tension between regional memory and a more futuristic electronic pulse.

Generator describes the night as euphoric and cathartic electronica in its rawest form. That gives a useful sense of the shared atmosphere without flattening the three acts into one sound. Nadine Hurley, Crimewave and Sin Clair each arrive with their own approach, and the Cumberland Arms setting should put the focus firmly on the detail, weight and physical pull of the music.
There is a strong idea behind the booking, too. The North’s industrial past is not being treated as a costume or an easy bit of imagery. Instead, the showcase looks at how repetitive rhythms, synthesised sound and post-industrial surroundings can become part of a living regional culture. It feels particularly well suited to a Fringe programme designed to put Newcastle’s venues and creative communities at the centre of Mercury week.
The event forms part of Mercury Prize Fringe, running across Newcastle from 15 to 22 October. The wider programme includes gigs, workshops, conversations and creative events across the city. Generator says every Fringe gig is Pay As You Feel, with all contributions returned to participating venues. Tickets are still required, so secure a place before heading down.
