Marcus Trummer Brings Blues, Soul and Rock to Cluny 2

Marcus Trummer comes to Cluny 2 in Newcastle on Wednesday 12 May 2027, bringing his blend of blues, soul, R&B and rock to Ouseburn. Doors open at 7:30pm, with the show open to ages 16 and over; anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Marcus Trummer brings From The Start to Cluny 2

The Calgary singer-songwriter and guitarist released his debut album From The Start in 2024. The ten-track record subsequently earned him a nomination for Blues Artist of the Year at the 2025 Western Canadian Music Awards. More recently, Trummer was named Male Blues Vocalist of the Year at the 2026 Canadian Blues Music Awards.

His music draws from several corners of roots music rather than staying inside a single blues format. Soul, R&B and rock all feed into his songwriting and guitar work, making the intimate Cluny 2 setting a particularly interesting match for the show.

Trummer has also been building an international live reputation. He won the Telluride Blues Challenge in 2023 before making his US festival debut at the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival the following year. In May 2026 he performed at Moulin Blues Festival in the Netherlands, marking his first European appearance.
